To Choose the right F-theta Scan Lens for your laser marking machine
Along with maturing of laser technology, laser machine works for more and more companies for marking and engraving application. F-theta scan lens could be one of the main factors which influences marking area.
Before F-theta scan lens change at factory, the following questions should be taken into consideration in advance:
1. The relevant parameter of marking machine:
Machine laser wavelength:
Fiber laser 1064nm -metal and nonmetal material marking
CO2 laser 10.6μm -nonmetal material processing
Green laser 532nm -nonmetal material processing
UV laser 355nm -fine processing of nonmetal material
Input beam diameter:
12mm beam diameter is the mostly common one for marking.
2. Marking area requirements
The common marking area of F-theta scan lens is 50*50mm,110*110mm, 160*160mm,220*220mm,300*300mm,500*500mm. However, marking area is in proportion to laser beam diameter. Large marking area in same laser power means lower laser energy density as result of longer focal distance in air. For laser fine processing, short focal distance and smaller marking area is preferred with F-theta scan lens.
For general laser marking of 20w fiber laser, f-theta scan lens with area 70*70mm (F100), 110*110mm (F160) and 175*175mm (F254) are main choice and max 400*400mm.
3. Scanner connecting thread size
Mostly M85*1 is the prevail thread size to connecting to scanner /galvo scanner. It may vary as per different scanner brand but connecting ring makes the difference vanished.
