Difference between Fiber Laser Marker &CO2 laser Marker

When we are choosing laser marker between CO2 and Fiber Laser, the following two factors have to be considered first:


1. Materials to be marked
CO2 laser works on nonmetal materials like: paper, plastic, nonmetal label, leather and clothing, glass and ceramic, adhesive, wood etc.

Fiber Laser works on metal material and part of nonmetal material like: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper, titanium, PE, ABS etc.


2. Machine maintenance
-Fiber laser technology upgraded rapidly with steady laser output and long service life (MTBF) 50,000 hours -Raycus laser; and IPG low power fiber laser 100,000 hours; Fiber laser is transmitted via fiber cable which make no wearing parts and almost out of maintenance.
-CO2 laser could be glass tube and metal RF laser. GSI technology CO2 laser (glass tube) guarantees 25000 hours service life and RF Laser such as Synrad, Coherent, Ronfin is 25,000 hours. No wearing parts in warranty period -12 month.
